He continually encourages others to have the ultimate attitude imaginable. Alex’s demeanor inside and outside the academy is a gentle balance of inspiring energy and respect. These efforts are done through great patience and dedication. He is enthusiastic and motivated to step on the mat everyday to encourage others to try something they’ve never done before. Alex’s teaching emphasizes developing discipline, confidence and preparing the individual to have success in their life. Alex has competed extensively throughout the world to improve his skills and expand his knowledge necessary for bringing leading edge expertise to his students. As a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with more than 20 years of experience, he is well qualified and accomplished. Head Instructor and Founder/Owner of AMBJJĪlex Martins, started training martial arts in 1997 at the age of 17 under Junior Cardoso and is a member of the Faustino Piña association in Manaus, Brazil.
